Michael Barker was raised in Arkansas and Tennessee, educated in Minnesota and lives in Chicago, from whence he flies once a month to North Carolina for visits with his muse, Aggie. Barker, as he is commonly known, received his BA in Theatre Arts and Japanese from Carleton College, if for no other reason than to pretend to comprehend contemporary Japanese theater. In a past life, Barker interned with the Marketing and Press departments at the Goodman Theatre and was the Box Office and House Manager at American Theater Company. He is currently the Marketing Associate at Court Theatre, and will be enrolling in Yale School of Drama's Theater Management MFA program in the fall. He can never do one thing at a time. Only two. Barker has improvised with and coached various supergroups including The State of Delaware and Wing Night. A semi-closeted playwright, he is currently finishing Angst Pointe High: A High School Farce for Adults (working title), co-written with two old buddies from his heavy-use improv days. He's super excited to meet you. |
